This year’s scientific meeting of the International Placenta Stem Cell Society (IPLASS) was organized in Izola, Slovenia from 19-20. September in co-organization with the Cell and Tissue Engineering Society of Slovenia.
Our team members Dr. Ivana Gazikalović, Dr. Hristina Obradović, Dr. Ivana Okić and Dr. Aleksandar Janev had the opportunity to participate in this conference entitled New Horizons in Cell and Tissue Engineering and Perinatal Derivatives, where they exchanged knowledge and information about progress in the field of perinatal tissue use in biomedicine, especially placental tissue.
Dr. Hristina Obradović presented the preliminary results of our research with the topic: Harnessing the Potential of Amniotic Membrane Homogenate: A Novel Bioink for 3D Bioprinting in Breast Reconstruction, while Dr. Ivana Gazikalović presented our project in the poster section.
In addition, Dr. Aleksandar Janev was part of the organization committee from the Institute for Cell Biology, University of Ljubljana, and Dr. Ivana Okić Đorđević was in the scientific committee of the conference.

Our young team was excited to present their work, showcasing our latest findings on the use of amniotic membrane homogenate as a 3D bioprinting biomaterial for applications in soft tissue regeneration, as well as to network with experts in the field and strengthen collaborations with colleagues from IPLASS and CTESS and the Sprint Cost action of which they were participants.
We are looking forward to see the updates on this topic in next meeting!
